All About Me: My name is Kayla Southers. I'm a senior at Chestatee High School and I'm a Honors Mentorship Program student. I've also known since I was very young that I wanted to be a Registered Nurse. During my middle school and high school career, I was able to participate in health care science classes and it was during this time that I found my love for nursing. When I was a junior I learned about the Honors Mentorship Program and knew this would be a program that I would be interested in and enjoy very much. I applied and got accepted. I mentor at Guilford Immediate Care. I get the opportunity to watch and learn from about six different registered nurses. I've learned so much through my mentorship and have gained hands on experience that I wouldn't have got in a classroom. I've learned so much from this experience and I'm excited for my future in nursing.
